We're kicking off the live auction with 4 bottles--in one! This is a Double Magnum (3 liters) of MUMM - NAPA Cuvee M. Cuvée M appeals to sparkling wine aficionados with a bit of a sweet tooth. It is a soft, elegant wine that showcases powerful ripe fruit flavors of Napa Valley. Cuvée M displays a graceful stream of fine bubbles, a lovely peach-rose hue, and fresh white and yellow stone fruit aromas complemented by notes of wild strawberry, fresh baked bread, vanilla and honey. Layers of ripe peach with subtle hints of mandarin orange combine with crisp citrus tones, leading to a long, satisfying finish.
The 2012 Lamborn Family Vineyards Zinfandel comes from a 4-acre vineyard at 2,200 feet high atop Howell Mountain. Howell Mountain's volcanic soil, combined with its distinct mezzo climate, provides this vineyard with ideal growing conditions. This environment produces Howell Mountain Zinfandels and Cabernet Sauvignons of the highest quality and intensity, with all Lamborn winemaking done by Heidi Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame. The grapes that eventually become Lamborn wines are exclusively from the winery's estate vineyard. Lamborn takes that formula one step further by farming the vineyard themselves and making annual farming decisions based on quality and nothing else.
The 2012 "Correlation" Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine celebrating the special attributes from select vineyard blocks on the Vineyard 7 & 8 Estate with those from a neighboring property and as the name suggests, the wine is a reflection of the interplay between the two great properties. Complimenting each other, both share the same unique hillside location and an elevation 2020 feet above the valley floor. The wine showcases a classic 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with balance, purity and opulence. Correlation is crafted to enjoy now, yet built to age gracefully for years to come.
“Classic” and “perfect” are just two accolades bestowed upon the 2012 Napa Valley growing season and harvest. Textbook conditions saw ideal spring bud break, steady flowering, even fruit set, and a stretch of warm days and cool nights during the long summer months. Rains held off until Napa Valley's treasured wine grapes found optimal ripeness, bringing exceptional quality to the crush pad and into the cellar. This release yielded a well-structured wine, with notes of crème de cassis, rose, black chocolate, baked fruit, tobacco and vanilla bean. We love it for its juicy mouthfeel, layered texture, and a lingering finish with just the right amount of acidity to balance the mature tannins. Our 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is a true reflection of the diversity of our property and an exceptional vintage with long aging potential.
